At New Century, the Preschool is not just a place where parents drop off their children while they study the Bible and worship. The purpose of the New Century Preschool Ministry is to provide a safe, loving and fun environment in which children can learn what the Bible says about God and the way He wants us to live. This is accomplished through Bible stories, activities, music, games and play. Preschool classes are offered during both Sunday morning worship services in order to provide parents the opportunity to attend both a Worship Service and a Bible Study.

 

 

 

The Preschool Department is made up of five classes. Children are assigned to a class according to their age on September 30 of the Sunday School year, which starts the first Sunday of September.

 

The classes are divided as follows:

 

 

 

 

Babies - birth to 12 months

 

Toddlers - at least 1 year old and walking by Sept. 30

 

2-Year-Old - at least 2 years old by Sept. 30

 

3-4-Year-Old - at least 3 years old by Sept. 30

 

 

Pre-Kindergarten - children who will begin Kindergarten the following school year

 

 

 

The Babies, Toddlers and 2-Year-Old classes are designed to allow children to experience God’s love through people at church. As the children learn to experience love from others besides their parents, they begin to develop a sense of trust and they learn how to respond to God’s love. The children hear about how special God has made them and they are introduced to the Bible and to God’s wonderful creation. In the 2-Year-Old class, the children are taught in a group setting as opposed to one-on-one.

 

 

 

The 3-4-Year-Old and Pre-Kindergarten classes are taught using structured curriculum which teaches them biblical foundations that will hopefully lead to a spiritual conversion later in life. They are taught life applications of Bible truths which help them develop a biblical view of the world. During the 9:15am service, we use LifeWay’s Bible Teaching for Kids resources and during the 10:45am service we use David C. Cook’s Bible-in-Life resources. By having different curriculums for each service, we keep things exciting for children who are present for both services.
